1960Rolls-Royce
Midnight Blue
This 1960 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II is a second-generation Silver Cloud powered by Rolls-Royce's first 6.23-liter V8 engine, an engine design that remained in production for nearly fifty years. While retaining the elegant styling of the Silver Cloud I, it featured improved performance, standard power steering, optional air conditioning, lightweight aluminum body panels, and a top speed of approximately 112 mph. With a 1960 base price of $15,655—roughly the cost of ten Volkswagen Beetles—it was among the world's finest luxury automobiles. Originally delivered in Paris to Brazilian businessman Antonio Mayrink Veiga and his glamorous wife, Carmen, one of Brazil's most celebrated socialites and fashion icons, the car later passed to retired U.S. Army officer and collector Farley Berman, then to prominent Las Vegas automobile dealer Bogdan "Bob" Glinski. Since 2019, it has been owned by Greg Wood of Henderson, Nevada, who has carefully preserved its largely original condition while restoring key mechanical components to make it a reliable touring car. Rather than treating it as a trailer queen, Greg regularly drives the Silver Cloud on long-distance road trips, including a 1,625-mile tour through Arizona and Utah in 2024, with additional touring planned.
